The Last of Us

The Last of Us is a 2013 activity experience game created by Naughty Dog and distributed by Sony Computer Entertainment. Players control Joel, a bootlegger entrusted with accompanying a young lady, Ellie, over a dystopian United States. The Last of Us is played from a third-individual point of view. Players use guns and ad libbed weapons, and can utilize covertness to safeguard against unfriendly people and inhuman animals tainted by a transformed strain of the Cordyceps parasite. In the online multiplayer mode, up to eight players take part in helpful and serious ongoing interaction. Advancement of The Last of Us started in 2009, not long after the arrival of Naughty Dog's past game, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Without precedent for the organization's history, Naughty Dog split into two groups; while one group created Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, the other half built up The Last of Us. The connection among Joel and Ellie turned into the center, with every single other component created around it. Entertainers Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson depicted Joel and Ellie separately through voice and movement catch, and helped innovative executive Neil Druckmann with the improvement of the characters and story. The first score was created and performed by Gustavo Santaolalla. In June 2013 Last of Us was released for PlayStation 3 and in 2014 for PlayStation 4.This is where last of us became one of the bestselling video games of all time. They sold over 1.3 million units in their first week and 18 million in April 2018. The game won several awards and in many places it is cited that it’s one of the greatest video games ever made. Several different modes were brought to the game such as single player campaigns with different characters. The sequel continues and last of us part 2 is set for release this June 2020.

The Unsung heroes of our Society

Lunch with Traffic Warden

During our initial interaction with traffic police warden we talked to one of the traffic wardens, Sub Inspector (SI) Ahmed, who was willing to sit down with us for lunch and talk about his experience. So we agreed on a time and date and decided to meet on 13^th of May. Thus, 13^th May, we had lunch with SI Ahmed Faraz and he explained his thankless job, how he faces abuse by traffic violators daily, and he hasn’t received a promotion in over three decades. At a salary of Rs35, 000 per month, and shifts that can stretch for over twelve hours, it’s a wonder that he and the other traffic policemen continue to show up for work every day. Traffic policemen are routinely harassed by traffic law violators. SI Ahmed explained how the people get mad at him even when they are in the wrong. All kinds of insults and lectures are thrown when the wardens are simply doing their duties. “We tell people to wear helmets, seatbelts, licenses, and they act like it's some kind of crime!” he exclaims. We asked about whether there are any health implication from doing such a strenuous job and explanation that was given soon made us realize that his job is a health hazard. When Ahmed had breathing problems, he was told by the doctor that the amount of dust he inhaled every day on duty was the same was the amount of dust that came off his uniform every day. Aside from falling sick from time to time, the roar of traffic also affects the hearing. We can also attest to the loudness as well. Although we were with the warden briefly, the noise of the traffic was a constant nuisance. There are no breaks either. Ahmed explain how those if there is a morning shift, you arrive at 7:30 and leave at 3:30 in the afternoon. The second shift stays till 11:30pm. If there is a rally, protest, traffic jam or a VIP movement – the nine-hour shift can stretch to 12, 16 or even 24 hours. No day is off, not even weekends. After an insightful conversation over lunch we bid SI Ahmed Faraz farewell and left for our homes with a heavy heart as we realized how that these unsung heroes sacrifice so much for our safety and in return get nothing. We should learn to respect the traffic wardens who are out each day to protect us and strictly adhere to the traffic rules put in place!

Counter Strike Global offensive

Counterstrike global offensive CS Go is a multiplayer first person shooter game developed by value the owners of Steam gaming engine. It is the fourth game of the series of counter strike and was released for windows, Xbox and PlayStation 3 back in August 2012. This game includes two teams which hare the Counter terrorists and the terrorists. It depends on the game mode, the terrorist must plant the bomb or defend the hostages while the counter terrorists must either prevent the bomb from being planted, defuse the bomb or rescue the hostages. There are mini fun game types in it as well. Value also allows its players to host dedicated servers and can play with the community and their friends. A battle royal mode “Danger zone” was also released in 2018.

Counter strike is praised for its game play and the loyal community which are playing counter strike since their first release. It has drawn in an estimate of 11 million players per month and has managed some high octane tournaments and competitive matches. Many of the matches are sponsored by Valve itself. They have a ranking system in the competitive matches too. Which start from silver one and ends on Global Elite. Global Elite is the highest of all and to reach that rank an individual must at least play a minimum of 1000 hours to reach that level. Counter strike has servers all around the globe which allows players to play on lower latency and get a smooth game play experience. There have been several spin offs titles created by Chinese creators in the market over the years such as Counter strike online series, Counter strike Neo and counter strike Nexon Studio. In 2018 value transitioned the game to a free to play model and now they are focusing on revenue from the skins and cosmetic items in game. Which are of high value and the prices vary from 40$ to 2500$ and even more.

VALORANT

Valorant is a free-to-play first-person multiplayer shooter for Microsoft Windows, developed and published by Riot Games. The game was announced in October 2019, under the code name Project A, and released on June 2, 2020. Valorant is a team-based tactical shooter and first-person shooter set in the near future. Players take control of agents, characters from a multitude of countries and cultures worldwide. In the main game mode, players either form an attacking or defending team of five players on each side.  Agents have unique capabilities and use an economic system to buy skills and weapons. The game has a variety of weapons including sidearms, sub-machine guns, shotguns, machine guns, assault rifles, and sniper rifles. Automatic weapons such as the "Spectre" and "Odin" have recoil patterns that the player must control to shoot accurately. The game is played over 25 rounds in standard game mode and the first team to win 13 rounds wins the game. The attacking team has a bomb which they need to plant on a building, called the Spike. If the attacking team protects the Spike successfully and it detonates, then they get a point. If the defending team defuses the Spike successfully, or if the 100-second round timer expires, the defending team gets a point. If all of a team's members are eliminated, the opposing team earns a point. The attacking team turns to defending team after twelve rounds, and vice versa. The game is played over 7 rounds in the Spike Rush mode so the first team to win 4 rounds wins the game. To further reduce the length of the game play, load outs are every round at random and each attacking player carries the spike they can plant at any site. It may not be the prettiest modern FPS around, but its visual simplicity allows for outstanding clarity in any war. Valorant makes me want to keep playing until there's nothing left to master with its teeth sunk in this deep.

BUBBLE TROUBLE

Initially released as a Flash game in May 2007, and as of January 2017 is using HTML 5 which can also be played online and on your mobile. Bubble Trouble was made by Kresimir Cvitanovic. Bubble Trouble is a web browser game (desktop and mobile). We also have the Android and iOS versions.  Bubble Trouble is a great retro shooter game where you control a single character that has to shoot all the bubbles down. The bubbles bounce around the level and get smaller as you shoot them each time you shoot a bubble it splits into several smaller ones you have to take the bounce into account and try shooting the bubbles without them landing on you. You only have a certain time limit to complete each level and you must try to remove as quickly as possible all the bubbles. You have to look out for the power-ups that fall when you break the bubbles too, such as an arrow that raises the bubbles' bounce height. Most of the time the timer clock also falls down which is my most favorite because it increases the time limit. This game has two game modes for single players and also for multi players so you can challenge yourself or play against friends and family. The features of this game are that you can play with your friend; the bubbles will become smaller until they disappear, different power-ups to collect when you shoot a bubble, various balloon colors. In the first level you have to only shoot one ball and as soon as you move to the next levels the sizes and the number of balls increase and also the difficulty level increases too. To play this game you have to use the left and right arrow to move and the space bar button to shoot the balls. The graphics of the game are also really good and the game is very addicting.

Cooking madness

Cooking madness is a free game which is available on android, as well as IOS. As the name suggests it is a cooking game that consists of different parts that are further divided into subpart, i.e when you play one part it has 20-30+ levels and to move to the second part you have to complete those levels and get the keys through fast and good customer service.  When you play part 1 that has 20-30+ levels you get to cook different dishes in different parts which means that you’ll play part 1’s levels cooking the same dishes and then when you’re done with part 1 you need to perform good so you get 10 keys and then you can move on to the second part with its new levels and new dishes to cook.  You have the option to replay the levels if you didn’t perform well and couldn’t get a key for that level. Every level is different from the other one because in some levels there’s a timer and you have to cook and serve as many customers as possible. It all depends on how quickly you cook and serve them. I always put things in the pan when serving other customers; in short I try to be efficient by cooking the dishes and putting them aside in the plates so whenever a customer comes in I can quickly serve them and this has always helped me to get maximum number of coins and the key too.  The levels with the timer are the most difficult because you have a pressure to reach the limit before the timer goes off. But some levels have no timer and there is a certain limit set of the customers you have to serve in that level and you can serve no more than that limit. In these levels too you have to super-efficient because the customers don’t wait for that long and they leave which gives you no points. So I would definitely recommend this game to everyone has it’s interesting as well as addicting.

Agar.io is a free online action game that came out in 2015. It is available on android, IOS and PC. The publisher of this game is mini clip. It has three modes FFA which stands for free for all, rush mode and battle royale. It has cells and each person owns one or more cells, split cells can later be merged into one cell. In this game there are a lot of people with their respective cells; people can change their cells name with symbols, words phrases etc.to make your cell appear funny you can make it look like a president, a meme or any other thing you can also choose your country name to represent your country so people of your country don’t eat your cell maybe. All the cells are in different colors like red, purple, blue etc.  The goal of this game is that your cell should be the largest in order to win and become the leader. In this game the cells eat the smaller cells to increase the size of their cell without being eaten by other larger cells. When your cell gets eaten by other larger cells it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been playing the game and made your cell very large but if a larger cell eats your cell you have to restart the game, so I guess this according to me is a drawback of this game because it is such an addictive game and it takes a while to build large cells and then when you get eaten you feel like you wasted all your time. After Agar.io games like paper.io and slither.io also came out. It has a very good rating on Google play as well as mini clip which is 4/5 on both. So I would recommend this game to the people who have a good patience level.
